COACHES CERTIFICATION:
USA FOOTBALL / AMERICAN SPORTS EDUCATION PROGRAM (ASEP)
To receive certifications, coaches must complete either ASEP or USA Football online training, complete the test with a passing score, and successfully pass a PGCBGC background check.
All ASEP and USA Football Training and Background Checks will be completed online ONLY
ASEP INSTRUCTIONS
1.) Go to www.asep.com
2.) Hover your mouse over "Youth" near the top of the screen
3.) Click "View My Organization’s Coaching Education Requirements"
4.) Choose the Letter "P"
5.) Scroll down to the bottom and click on Prince George’s County Boys and Girls Club
6.) Choose the course of the sport that you intend to coach by clicking on the corresponding online course icon.

BACKGROUND CHECK INSTRUCTIONS
Staring March 15th, 2019, the PGCBGC background check is now processed through the Sports Engine website.
The new background check will still be facilitated by NCSI and their partner Sports Engine and will be good for the standard 2-year period.
The cost has decreased to $20.00 per background registrant.

Also new for 2019 PGCBGC has adopted a new "Abuse Prevention and Training" (APT) course mandated by the federal government for all youth volunteer organizations.
The APT course will be coupled with the 2021 Background check at an additional cost of $5 per registrant, and also will be good for the 2-year period.
Cost for the APT course only will be $5.00 per registrant.
You will need to ensure you've completed both PGCBGC background and APT requirements in order to obtain/retain a Coach's Badge or Team Admin badge..
